A plastic dryer, often called a hopper dryer or resin dryer, is a piece of auxiliary equipment used in plastics manufacturing (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, etc.) to remove moisture from plastic raw materials (pellets, granules, powders) before they are processed. Moisture in plastic resins can lead to defects in the final product (like bubbles, streaks, poor mechanical strength), so drying is critical.

Raffia stands for Low-Density Polyethylene, a thermoplastic known for its flexibility, toughness, and moisture resistance. It is made from the polymerization of ethylene and has a branched molecular structure, which makes it less dense and more flexible than its high-density counterpart (HDPE). Common uses include grocery bags, plastic films for packaging, and squeeze bottles.
